I went to a gas station today and
asked for five dollars worth of gas.
The clerk farted and gave me a receipt.
:o
I walk 10 miles a day :)
I filled up the tank yesterday - $35 at $3.23 a gallon. That's the highest price ever. God bless the energy companies and Bush. ::)

No thanks. I just got a clean bill of health from prostate cancer and don't need additional complications.

Congratulations on your clean bill of health, Don.
4.90 yuan a liter, which translates to about $2.40 per gallon here in China.

Thanks. It was quite an experience - 40 straight days of radiation treatment with wonderful side effects as a bonus. But I said to myself when I got the bad news - "You better suck this one up right from the start". And that's what I did, maintaining a good state of mind the whole time (except for weekends when I let my guard down).

Well, in Finland gas is almost 1.4 euros per litre (~$6.70 a gallon). Even the Finnish price is nothing compared to what gas will cost within few decades.
Move to Venezuela, gas costs practically nothing there.

Always look on the bright side of life, Don. The last time I filled up my car, it cost 80 Euro...that's $108. Gas is still a bargain in the States.
Now, I'm desperately trying to find the bright side of my situation :(
Sarge
Here in Perth a litre of diesel is $1.30 at the moment, about 10c more expensive than Gold Coast. However, as I trek back through the heart of Australia the more remote I get, the higher the price. For instance, I paid $1.67L at the South Australia/WestAustralia border on my trip across. To help matters I've filled 4x 20L jerry cans here in Perth to give me a total of 170L capacity. I'll repeat the process in Alice Springs where the price will again be better.
