Post by: pjme on July 08, 2008, 10:18:05 AM
I know ,I posted this also in the "general messages", but I give von Otter's glorious take on "La mort de Cléopatre" another chance!

This year the Flander's Festival celebrates its 50th birthday.

Go to KLARA's website ( Belgian radio /Classical music/ Flanders), click "muziek / jubilee line - and "meer over de Jubilee line ,page 2)", and enjoy (usually) short fragments from concerts and interviews (Bernstein in 1968!!). A very young Abbado, Paul Van Nevel (with beard), Arleen Auger....

New items are posted almost every day.

Anne Sofie von Otter / Concertgebouw orchestra Amsterdam / J.E.Gardiner. Recorded at the salle Henri Leboeuf / Palais des Beaux arts / Brussels
And, yes, that's Jaap Van Zweden as leader.
