Title: Royal Opera House and Tickets
Post by: Michel on May 17, 2007, 12:38:29 PM
How do you get tickets for hard-to-get operas?

I am of course referring specifically to Parsifal this winter, with Haitink in the pit.

I will, in the words of a friend, "kill several times over to get a ticket", but before I turn to the knife, what else will help?

A trick my father taught me is to go to the box office the night of the performance...there are always cancellations and getting single seat should not be a problem.  If you are taking a date then this trick might not work so well.  Did you try the internet like www.ticketmaster.co.uk ?

sorry I can not be of more help Michel.

Are they all sold out at the moment?

I would suggest that you give them a call from time to time to see if you can score some returns.

They aren't even on sale yet -- I am preparing. :)
