...part of what makes the world go 'round...
Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

Not a mote, I hope?

Hey, you don't worry about my mote, bud!  >:(

No, no, over here there's planks as far as the eye can see . . . .

Joe Barron

Most likely a fictional character and a composite of several first-century religious leaders. Everything we "know" about him was written at least forty years after the incidents described by people who never saw him, with most of the embellishments and glosses coming much, much later. There are no contermporary accounts. Nobody about AD 30 wrote home to Rome saying, "You know, there's this guy in Palestine who's doing some incredible things with fish and dead people."  ;)

So, that fact (that we have no such contemporary accounts) "means" that Jesus is probably fictitious, or a composite?

I mean, journalism in AD 30 was pretty much the same as it is today, right?

Very interesting. Are there any good books on this type of thing?

Where there's demand, there is publication, wot.

(Of course, Joe is only parodying the bogus argument against Mozart.)
