One of the more enterprising DG productions of recent years

It's also great to see Kaja Danczowska cropping up again--her Szymanowski/Franck disc with Zimerman still is my first choice in those works.
Well, it's more of a Zimerman production forced upon DG. Recorded quite some time ago, and released two months after her anniversary year is over, tells us everything we need to know about that.....The former majors continue to be more of a pain in the ass than a major cultural force.

This little beauty is plugged into and powered by the USB connection and bypasses my PCs sound card. I'm very impressed with the greatly improved SQ, even with 192 kbs MP3s. I got it because the majority of my listening nowadays is through my PC or work laptop.

I must admit that I had to really play around with System Control to make it work with my PC where it worked first up on my laptop without a hitch.

A great buy from ebay for less than $100.
Cheers

I try not to think about these dreadful works and focus on the works that made me appreciate him.

I'm very fond of No. 2, but I haven't listened to the others in while.  My impression of Tippett is that he really took risks in his music, and these didn't always pan out.

A digital to analog adapter I guess allowing the plugging in of a PC to the sound system without going via the PCs sound card.

If you are running a Macbook, this will do more or less the same, not actively however:

This came today:

Fikret Amirov: The Arabian Nights etc (Rzaev et al.)

The listening thread made me aware of it, and I'm looking forward to listen to it.

A request to ImageShack users (and I'm occasionally one of them myself): could you please include text on the item as well, wherever pertinent? I'm faced with this error: http://www.techpinas.com/2011/02/imageshack-unregistered-domain-error.html, although I don't think I can do anything to fix it.

Congrats.  Another nice thing about external DAC/headphone amps is that you can use just the one device on your desktop, your notebook, or your work computer.

Sorry, I don't understand. I can see the image (and so far could see all imageshack ones), and what text do you mean?

The problem I'm facing is that I see a frog in an ice cube (pic available in the link in my earlier post). And by text, I mean album name and things like that.

But - alas! - I got CD #2 two times, so #1 is missing  :'(

How inconvenient, since it came from the US. Just in case I can't get the missing disc, is there anybody here who could help me out with it?

Ah, I see. Often I did include the text, but I will do it always from now on. This one is
Fikret Amirov: The Arabian Nights etc (Rzaev et al.)

But also I could look for another image hoster. Is there one you can recommend?

Oh, that's taking too much trouble for one person. :)

I don't know how or why this is happening all of a sudden.

Cancelled the order for the complete Milken Archive of Jewish Music set (50 CDs in all) and instead picked out 10 recordings that interested me the most (this sure beats the heck out of paying $255 for the set). I'm just not going to pay that kind of money for something totally unknown to me with the exception of a few works (mainly by Bernstein). I bought all of these for $3. All from the same Amazon Marketplace seller. Too bad Amazon doesn't combine shipping or this would have been much cheaper:

Outstanding recording. I own this one and Heller's excellent recording. Do you have the Heller as well?
