I do love this account of The St-Gaudens in Boston Common.

Yes...I'm repeating it now...had to.

Have you seen the film Glory, Karl?

Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Being partially restored to health, I did some reruns of recently acquired cd's. Enjoyed the process, although it made me a bit drowsy. Not used to sit still for a prolonged time. Anyways, three fine discs.

Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

"When Time hath gnawed our bones to dust, yet friendship's echo shall not rust"

Now:

Listening to The Pond (Remembrance) and then off to work. Haunting piece.

Scriabin: Symphony No. 3, "The Divine Poem" (Bayerisches Staatsorchester / Kirill Petrenko) - Thanks to a friend for unearthing this performance, taped in Munich, April 29, 2014. The Bavarian ensemble sounds terrific - well worth hearing for anyone who likes the piece.

Excellent, Karl. I haven't compared it with Lenny's earlier recording with New York though.
