I would rather say you got some unbelievable treasures for astonishingly low prices :)

Yes; 35 euros including P&P. Guess they are dumping the Brendel set in the wake of the complete gigabox, but as I already has his Beethoven and Haydn as well as some other single discs, I'm not in the running for that brick! The package has already been sent, just a few hours after my order.

I will miss discplus as well. Despite the prohibitive international  shipping costs, particularly for box sets since they charge per disc, it was my go-to for out of print stuff when anything else failed . You are lucky to be in Switzerland, avoiding crazy shipping costs and customs issues... :)

Meantime I ordered this out of print item, the discount made up for the shipping costs.... 8)

I received a confirmation of shipping only yesterday, I guess they are behind. Did they cancel yours?

Oh, I am sorry to hear that... :( I guess I got lucky.

I'll keep an eye out  and let you know if I spot another copy somewhere. :)

Please do. My own fault for keeping it in my wishlist for too long, foolishly assuming that such a (reputedly) splendid and rare recording would be available for more than three years.  >:(  A sad comment on the state of the classical recording industry. With my diverse musikal interests I cannot buy everything I want immediately (just try to); though I'm not absolutely dedicated to getting every scrap of French baroque music - and anyway vocal stuff is my main interest from that period. Though the set may well be the subject of a second print run, such wonders happen!

Contemporary composers exploration. David Maslanka seems very interesting (on Spotify).  :)

This order never arrived (lost in the transmission) and I was refunded (no replacement copies available). Just re-ordered it from another seller for a much higher price. Shit happens...
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Console yourself that now there probably is one happy postal worker somewhere listening to Maslanka!

Well, I predict that you should be happy w/ that purchase - I've own the set for years; my only other collection is w/ the Nash Ensemble, also quite enjoyable (but does not include the Clarinet Quintet).  Dave :)

I dislike the clarinet quintet in the Talich recording (but the set is easily worth it for the string quintets), mainly because of the vibrato and unpleasant tone of the clarinetist. But this is a rather personal preference about how a clarinet should sound...

I'm with the others - it's a great set! The only thing that bugs me is the sound for the two middle quintets (K.515 & 516): as the music ramps up and gets into even the moderate range - let alone loud - an extreme dryness becomes apparent. Crimped and very close. It's not a deal-breaker though but I wish the sound could be as good as it is for the last two quintets, which is almost ideal.

Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

Great reading the above comments guys; looking forward to hearing the set. I really like the Clarinet Quintet so I will give that one special attention.

I totally understand.- after all, I totally did the exact same thing!  :) And I am a harpsichord and Rousset fan! ???

There are just so many things that demand our attention...it is hard to keep up. :) Though the label Aperte probably issues very smal numbers of copies...
