Indeed! No argument here! ;D

Too bad Stockhausen didn't write a Peer Gynt.

Nice. :) It is IMO (one of) the best recorder ensembles.
Sofar my highlights are the albums La Spagna and Italian Recorder Music (both on L'Oiseau-Lyre), and Bach's the Art of the Fuge (Channel Classics).

Newton once issued a 4 CDset with licensed reissues, but the disc with Italian Recorder Music proved to be faulty. Which judging from similar experiences by other buyers turned out to be a production flaw. Anyway, Newton quickly went under and I replaced the faulty disc by the real deal...

Have been searching for these recordings ever since I came across a 10" LP from the early 50's containing Arrau's recording of the Debussy Images and Pour le piano. Astonishing. Then I spent years chasing after a set called "The Birth of a Legend" on a sketchy labeled called "United Archives." Impossible to find. Finally, the material has been released, apparently mastered from the original sources.

Well, decided to get some Clarinet Concertos - the performances of Carl Stamitz works performed by Eduard Brunner have been packaged into a 3-CD set - own just one disc on Naxos w/ Berkes - a couple of reviews attached for those interested.  Dave :)
