I have to hear the Tansman Cello Concerto now that I know it exists, but I can't find it streaming anywhere, so I bought a used CD.

I didn't know about the existence of those works either. Recently I also found out that Bacewicz wrote a Viola Concerto.

Oh, great, Mme. Argerich's 97th recording of the Beethoven PC1;D

Good day to you, Tasos!

A lot of great Slatkin disks! Like the Jaarvi, too. I became a fan of both after a hearing Horowitz rave about them.

TD:
Got a second hand copy for great price. I LOVE his recent Haydn symphonies box, and the St. Martins--SMITF--box (more than half are Marriner), so seems like a no brainer...
It's all good...

Slatkin made a lot of great recordings! I've been looking for his Walton disc for a while, and most of his stuff with St. Louis (including these Vox twofers) is excellent. As far as Jarvi's Shostakovich, I only have his Seventh and Eighth, and now the Ballet Suites... I want to collect more, but it's unlikely it'll be boxed up since it's on two different labels!

I too am a big fan of Marriner's Haydn! So elegant and refined, but not afraid to let loose where the music calls for it. I have the 15 disc set from Australian Eloquence, which I'm guessing is what you're referring to?

The Shostakovitch Ballet Suites are very good in this performance.

Yes, the 15 disk box on Eloquence/Decca (with most originally made for Phillips, I believe).
It's all good...

Penderecki's Passio et Mors Domini Nostri Jesu Christu Secundum Lucam on Harmonia Mundi.  Old LP boxed set made in Germany.  I suspect that this is an earlier pressing.  Will ask the vinyl gurus in the vinyl thread.

Finally located a reasonably priced copy of the Andante issue of Toscanini's Meistersinger, recorded live at the 1937 Salzburg Festival...

That is a fun disc. All of those Tansman Koch recordings are worth owning.
