Quote from: Mookalafalas on February 11, 2023, 07:47:48 PMI am studying Japanese. Since most Japanese shows are unwatchably bad, I started watching this Korean show, dubbed into Japanese It's a dramedy about an autistic lawyer. I can see why Koreans have come to dominate Asian screens. They can really do melodrama. Quite fun and engaging, and occasionally moving. It's on Netflix here in Japan. Don't know if its available to western viewers.

Quote from: Pohjolas Daughter on February 16, 2023, 05:19:17 AMWill be rather hard to get the character of that *horrible guy out of my brain (at least initially I suspect) when I do get around to watching Grantchester.
Quote from: 71 dB on January 30, 2023, 07:13:06 AMI finished the sixth season of Better Call Saul some time ago and started watching Breaking Bad again on Blu-ray.
Quote from: Pohjolas Daughter on February 16, 2023, 05:19:17 AMJust finished the first two seasons of Happy Valley. Alas, I don't believe that I'll be able to watch the final season of it until later on in the year (May something-or-other according to one site; and I can't remember which one!).Will be rather hard to get the character of that *horrible guy out of my brain (at least initially I suspect) when I do get around to watching Grantchester.*played by James NortonPD
Quote from: Irons on February 16, 2023, 06:50:47 AMHi PD, trust you are well.A scene that made my skin crawl! It was the soft velvet voice that did it.
Quote from: Pohjolas Daughter on February 16, 2023, 07:17:09 AMYep! And also "loved" how his character blamed everything that bad that had happened to him on the police officer! Sure [She said sarcastically.]!Alas, pressure in one of my ears still hasn't gone away (a bit better when first waking up then it feels like half of my head is under the ocean). Done with antibiotics and hoping that this will clear up on its own soon. If not, I'll make an appointment with an ENT. Reason why I haven't been listening to much music lately. Fingers crossed here! And thank you for asking Lol! PDp.s. Wonder whether or not I could watch the third season if I subscribed to the BBC iPlayer? Will check into it later.
Quote from: krummholz on February 16, 2023, 06:41:32 AMI've been slowly making my way through BB for the last year or so (along with Madam Secretary and now the 4th season of The Handmaid's Tale). Definitely one of the darkest, most violent series I've ever seen (as is THT), but oh boy, is it good! Just finished Season 4 last night... what a season finale that was!
Quote from: Roasted Swan on February 16, 2023, 07:34:43 AMBad luck with your ear infection - that sounds horrible...... Series 3 is worth the wait. Very compelling viewing - Sarah Lancashire's acting is genuinely superb. I worked on a show many years ago with one of the secondary characters - the very great Con O'Neill who plays Neill. Very odd seeing Con - who I knew as a young man here playing an older middle-aged character. Clearly I am just in self-denial about getting older myself!!
Quote from: Pohjolas Daughter on February 16, 2023, 11:05:37 AMI remember enjoying MS (though it was some years ago). Been tempted to watch The Handmaid's Tale (read the [excellent] book by Margaret Atwood many, many moons ago). Sounds like you are enjoying it? Haven't (at least yet) tried any of the Breaking Bad series...will have to look into it.
