This is the disc that made me realise what an underrated composer Poulenc is. Enjoy.

Edward, indeed I am enjoying this.  This is my Poulenc initiation.

There is some exceptionally beautiful music on here.  :)

Yes, I know.   :(  I'm listening to the Piano Sonata right now.  It's absolutely gorgeous!  :)

Went to the Mediathek here in Salzburg today and came back with:

And... Nielsen, symphonies 1&6, Blomstedt, SFS

I also picked up Franz Hummel's (b. 1939) piano concerto thinking it was Johaan Hummel's from the baroque period. Big disappointment when I got home  :'(

The only Franz Hummel I've heard is his opera Gesualdo. I wasn't impressed, so I hope this accidental piano concerto is better.

Went back to Mediathek and brought back:

As well as... Brahms piano quintet with Schiff and Takacs (I love Brahms chamber music but the naxos cd version I have of this wasn't making me very happy... this is much better)
and..Faure orchestral works conducted by Marriner (I love Faure songs, chamber music, and piano music, so I hope this is at the same level)

Opus106

I got it mainly for the section on instruments.
