This morning came by post from a woman friend of mine, dear Svetlana, a Beethoven box, which she thought a good idea to send me, as a sort of belated birthday presence!
O, boy, this is not good, my refusal bin will be filled within days after I start listening to them.
Barely through the Mozart box now this. Can't send it back of course, that would be bad behaviour right.
Anyone has this and can tell me something about the quality?

Mmmhhh, Mark had a thread on this I believe.... ::)

Searching: "Beethoven" & "Brilliant"...

Yes...here it is! ;D  ;D  All of Beethoven, all in one box ...

Well, Harry, if it includes Blomstedt's Dresden symphony cycle, at least those discs will be good!  Do you really put CDs in the refuse bin?  Have you thought about donating your discards to a charity shop or library or school?

That's right, the Blomstedt's are in it too. ;D
Yes I have a thread about it, in which I give away those discs I do not like...
And giving them away to libraries our schools proves to be more hassle then sending them to members of GMG...

Indeed.. ;D And I wasn't suggesting a "union" between the two of you! 8)  ;D

But now at least you can read the comments that have been made previously. :)

I got this box three weeks ago - and haven´t got time for it yet, but having polished my glasses one more time, I still read for the symfonies : Leipzig Gewandhaus / Kurt Masur. So no Blomstedt for me.
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

After doing the same for my glasses I have to agree, those are the Masur ones.......
See, that much soiled can your glasses become....... ;D
