I have also become very interested in the central European brick gothic style, partly because it is so alien in aesthetic to anything I encounter in the UK:

I love European Gothic style. Those cathedrals in Cologne, Rheims (Notre-Dame de Reims), Milan, Barcelona are simply majestic.

Moscow

There are seven similar buildings in Moscow, fortunately, the eighth was never built.

The Vienna Secession, built in 1897, is one of my favorite buildings here in Vienna.

Thank you guys (or chaps/gals as we say in England) for the fascinating responses. I had the good fortune to see Moscow University last February in rather foggy conditions and I love the soviet architecture. I also liked the unbuilt 'Lenin Tower' a great monstrosity.

Call it a sentimental hometown favorite, but I have always liked the Indiana University Art Museum in Bloomington, IN. It's a pretty standard museum as far as layout goes (the collections are actually pretty nice), though done by I.M. Pei in the early 1980s, but the interesting fact is that there are no right angles in the building.

Another favorite of mine is Schloß Neuschwanstein. I hope to see this castle in person someday before I die.
