I woke up Wednesday morning last week with pins and needles and reduced feeling in the pinky and ring finger of my right hand. I experienced a loss of grip in the hand as well and immediately though - OMG, I've had a stroke!!!! I then noticed that my elbow was slightly sore and after some research I decided that I've got a trapped ulnar nerve in my elbow. This is not painful except when I try to bend the elbow to it's fullest and it sends a nerve type sensation into those two fingers.

I've talked to a couple of peole who've had this. One went to a doctor, did the rest and recuperation thing and it righted itself. The other had a steroid injection (hydrocortisone I presume) directly into the elbow and all came right.

Before I go and see a doctor, if there is anyone on this forum who has had the same affliction I would be interested in what you did and how it worked out.
Cheers

Try a chiropractor, one with a degree from Life University in Atlanta.  You most probably have a pinched nerve, which a chiropractor (if competent) can take care of.

I once had sciatica - complete with loss of muscle mass in my right leg - for 2 years, and regular doctors could do nothing except to threaten the infamous operation on the spine which is known not to work.   After resisting the idea of a chiropractor, I gave in and within 4 weeks, after he worked his way up my spine, I was cured: I still remember the day he said: "Today it will all be over."  He clicked my neck twice and I felt this wave of relief literally all the way down my leg to my toes.

I'd see a doctor if the problem persists, Ric.

How is your arm today? I would also suggest a visit to a doctor or a sports physician first.

Hope you sort it out soon.

Holden - this is likely a minor problem, but I would agree w/ the above to see a medical doctor; your problem could relate to an ulnar nerve issue @ the elbow (and be of little importance, just a need to resolve) or possibly another issue further down the arm, such as a 'carpal tunnel syndrome' - a specialist in these problems would be your best choice - good luck, and please keep us up to date!  Dave  :-\
