I would highly appreciate your opinions about two pieces I composed. This IS copyrighted material and I am the copyright holder (copyright by me, real name: Karol P.,). I should also add that my name is a MALE name where I come from and unlike the beutiful person depicted in my avatar, I am MALE :)

Although they are my original compositions, one of them sounds to me a bit like an old folk song - perhaps French. Contrary to popular belief, I am NOT French and I have never been to France :) If you recognise the folk inspiration that must have somehow stuck in my memory, please let me know.

Depending on your bandwidth and interest, you may be comfortable with either of the two options:

1. a basic pack (2 MB), containing three versions of the piece "Forgotten Love" played on celesta, piano and strings respectively:

2. a full package (18 MB), containing ALL versions of "Forgotten Love" featuring MOST orchestral instruments as well as some exotic instruments. It also contains the other piece called "Forbidden Garden" played on strings:

I am looking forward to your opinions. Perhaps we could have a vote for the instrument best suitable for playing "Forgotten Love"?

Oh, come on, who else other than a Frenchman would ever post a link to an Ich Troje song? ;)

Ciel_Rouge

Alright, I've made them playable online.

Click here for "Forgotten Love" played on piano:

Click here for "Forgotten Love" on synth strings:

And here goes the "Forbidden Garden":

Maciek: I do not recall ever posting a link to a song by Ich Troje.

Maciek

Sorry, sloppy reading on my part (I never followed the link). It was ich troLe (just checked). But I still maintain only someone from France could recommend that. ;D ;D ;D

(Hope you weren't offended, I could see how one could be. ;D)

I hope someone will finally refer to the pieces themselves and not to me personally. They are the first two pieces that I have ever composed - I did it just for fun. One of them sounds sort of French to me and I am just wondering if there is really a French melody stuck in my head as my knowledge here is too limited to be able to determine if that is the case or not.

The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away

Try checking your flash settings etc. It does work on my computer and many others. Do not expect too much though - I was just having fun. Identifying inspiration is even of more interest to me - if you are able to identify a French folk song somehow similar to Forgotten Love, I would highly appreciate that. And one more tip: it may sound a bit odd on the piano so go for the synth strings to get it to flow better.

I knew that . . . .

Perhaps I should not have bothered you so soon. I was just curious about more informed opinions on what I was trying to create. The French song identification is always welcome should anyone come up with that. Have a nice day and give my pieces a chance only if you really want to :)

Sorry, I can't get your on-line player to work, either.  Granted I have pretty limited technical abilities, but unless others are having more luck with it than I am, you won't be getting many comments about the music.
