I get shotgun!...and why not? ;D 8)

Just to get started:

Lemora, or, A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973?)

When I met "her", she reminded me so much of Cheryl Rainbeaux Smith...oh, woe is me! Ah, this movie...I'll leave it to someone else to fill in the details. I'm in love.

Vampyr (1931?)

Such a strange, modern looking film.

Plan 9 from Outer Space

Greastest Film Ever Made.

Suspiria

Anyone? Deep Red and The Bird with the Crystal Plummage round this one out. Oh, and I finally saw Four Flies on Grey Velvet on youtube.

The Thing (John Carpenter)

Best monster movie ever.

Scanners, The Fury

Great exploding heads, batman!

Dawn of the Dead (Romero)

Even better exploding heads! Ah, the all time cozy classic. I got in sooo much trouble! ;D

Blood of Dracula's Castle (1966)

Now I'm starting to cry. Ah, nostalghiamente...I always found, the worse a movie is, the more of the "times" you can detect in it, sociologically speaking. The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies counts, too. And don't forget Dracula vs. Frankenstein (1971) with the hippest afro sportin' Jew Dracula ever!

Vampyrs (1972?)

Ah, lesbian vampires... where are you Jean Rollin?

Yes, lesbian vampires and slow moving zombies... SUCH a weakness, uh! btw- FAST moving zombies SUCK!!!... takes all the fun out of it, IMO.

Just like with rock music and Kurt Cobain, the last 15 years have not really been kind to horror movies. I'll call the Scream movies the last franchise. The sci-fi channel's homemade CGI fests have nailed the coffin shut, though I would LOVE a second career as a low rent horror actor! But, yea, there's no turning back now. CGI, CGI, CGI... tears, tears, tears... :'( :'( :'(

This is by no my my "list." Just stuff off the top of my head to get you started down memory lane.

Christopher Lee , the best Dracula! Some of these Hammer productions were ..."atmospheric"....

My best friend, Steve Markowski, helped work on this film.  They have been very pleased with the reviews.

However, the only horror movies, for the most part, that I take in on a regular basis usually stars one of these folks:

Cool!

I like horror movies, but I'm more into the literature.

A friend on a classical horror movie board just sent me a bunch of Lovecraft novels.  Are they worth the effort?

Collections vary. You should be able to start anywhere.

wow, ten minutes ago there wasn't a hit on this thread!

see, already we have the best horror thread...oh, you name droppers!!!

Let the Right One In? I thought about making "A Swedish Horror Movie", title and all... what WOULD that be like?

Nothing happens....nothing... I mean,... NOTHING!!! aaaahhhh....

It COULD be terrifying... seriously.

Yea, the first "Evil Dead" made me squirm.

"Eyes without a Face", and all those Italian "Dr. Hitchcock/Dr. Orloff" delicious clunkers (I DO have a weakness for cheezee clunkers!), yes.

oh, I can tell this is gonna be a circle jerk...

How about "Blood Freak", with the turkey headed Nam junkie monster?

Remember the 70s film "Incubus" with John Cassavetes?

and yea, Christopher Lee was my hero...

Ingrid Pitt... met her once

oh please, I'm "starting' to feel like a convention nerd... the giddiness starts. brrr brrr brrr... "starting" hahaha...

I'm trying to think of one of those titles that will make you all jealous (as I'm pushing my taped together glasses up my nose)

oh, this is gonna be too much fun...yes, the Chinese have won... go ahead, take away my freedoms...

remember that telekenesis movie starring Richard Burton?...ok, I'll stop...(rolling on the floor laughing)...oooo hooo... ;D ;D ;D

Never cared for the Hammer films.....cool, if you do though.  From that era I was more of a Vincent Price fan, but only to a point.  However, there was one show that worked for me:

Vincent Price...was it "Theater of Blood/Death?"... the Shakespeare thing?...ah, the 70s...
