Some people will no doubt think I'm mad, but I'm looking to trade my Klemperer Fidelio on CD (original full price issue, with complete libretto and notes) for the Karajan with Dernesch and Vickers. Anyone interested?

Well, having listened to the Karajan again for the first time in about 10 years, I can only say that I find it a far more satisfying performance. I'm thinking of writing a detailed crit of it for the board. In my opinion it has been unfairly dismissed and/or maligned by many critics.
