Yesyesyeysysysys! I don't know the 3rd, but you will really like the disc of 1 and 2.

Yeah, Lethe. I've sampled some of Mathias' music through NML and I really liked it so I ordered these two recordings. Mathias seems to be not mentioned on GMG very much for some odd reason, but him being Welsh, I had to give him a go.

Edit: Besides Mathias being Welsh, another thing that sparked some interest in his music for me was finding out he was influenced by Tippett, so naturally I was there in two seconds. :D

The Gustav Leonhardt Edition
[T]he CDs come in sleeves that have the original art work on them and the necessary information on the back...

As Que has mentioned many-a-times, the provenance of the organs are not listed at all. :(

The hardest working woman in the Bundespost delivered Haydn this morning: more from the Hobbit's ongoing cycle (90 & 92); Goodman (17, 18, 19, 20, 21); and some Commie Haydn, Günther Herbig and the Staatskapelle Berlin (4, 5, 9, 10) from 1974 (the clips at Amazon sound wonderful).

The Gustav Leonhardt Edition

Too many goodies in this box that I didn't already have... so it was presumably worth it. Better yet: the CDs come in sleeves that have the original art work on them and the necessary information on the back... so I can toss the box and sort them according to composer. That was actually the reason I finally got it, after all. :-)  It's an odd mix of stuff, though, and strangely (yet naturally) incomplete. A similar box that brings more of the DHM recordings together would be nice.

It contains:

Leonhardt's Third, 1976 Goldberg Variations
Masterpieces of French Harpsichord Music (Rameau, Le Roux, Royer, Duphly)
Georg Böhm: Keyboard Works - Ouverture, Suites, Capriccio
J.S.Bach: Organ Works Hagerbeer-Schnitger Organ, Grote of St.Laurenskerk, Alkmaar

Organ Works of the Renaissance and Baroque from Alpine Countries  -
Organ Works of the Renaissance and Baroque from the Netherlands - Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam, NL, Buitenkerk, Kampen, NL
Elector-Princely Harpsichord Music from Dresden (Weckman & Froberger) - Churburg Castle, Val Venosta, IT, St.James, Compatsch, CH, Klosterkirche Muri, Aargau, CH
Music of Versailles (Marais, d'Anglebert, Forqueray

Telemann, Paris Quartets (1-6 only)
D. Scarlatti, Essercizi per gravicembalo (14 sonatas)
L. Couperin, Suites & Pavane
J.S.Bach, Concertos BWV 1060R, 1044, 1052

J. S. Bach - Cantatas Nos. 27, 34 & 41
Harpsichord Concertos J.S. & C.P.E. Bach
Corelli Sonatas (w/ Brüggen & Bylsma)

Not in detail, perhaps, but it does list which organs he plays on. Information added above.

Gustav Leonhardt: The Edition. (Oh, they're both called that, aren't they? The Sony box that Jens details above.) Fact is, though, before long I'll pull the trigger on the Das Alte Werk 21-disc-er, too.

So they are not a baby, but quintizillionduplets or whatever a 15- or 21-tuplets are called.

Collectively, they're a baby. Or perhaps, twins : )

Thread duty:

I've discovered the joy of digital purchases . . . the Vänskä/Lahti set of Sibelius symphonies, the Noëlle Spieth recording of the complete François Couperin (solo clavecin music), and now: the complete Haydn concertos.

I appreciate the effort, Jens; thanks. :) My copy (purchased in '08) just says 'organ' in three different languages.

Aye, I've pre-ordered that baby.

Before it's too late,  check out Barnes and Noble.   You can wait until the release date, and use one of their coupons to get it below the Amazon price.  I tried to pre-order it last night with a coupon, but apparently they won't accept coupons on pre-orders.
