No. no-one knows Nono's nonsense nonet! Notably noxious notion.

Listen what the (French) Cat dragged in:

J.S. Bach,
4 Keyboard Concertos
plus a little treat
A.Tharaud
Le Violons du Roi - B.Labadie
Virgin

What's your take on this one, Jens? The Bach keyboard concertos contain some of my favorite music, BWV 1056 being the best of that bunch, and I love the way they sound played on a piano. I have the Perahia/Sony performances but was looking for a good companion for it.

If you want a PIANO companion, I think this is good not just because the performances are superb (I usually love Tharaud's playing... especially in miniatures of any and all sorts) but also because with the "Violons du Roi" it provides a fine contrast to the Academy of St. Martin. More contrast than the Australian CO with Hewitt... the second volume of which is particularly successful. Here you get BWV 1052, 54, 56, 58, and 65 (the cto. for four keyboards after Vivaldi). The nugget is the re-orchestration of the Bach adaptation of a Marcello concerto with which, in its solo-guise as BWV 974, he opens his spectacular solo Bach CD on Harmonia Mundi with. After 3 listens, I'm quite enthusiastic.

I said I wasn't going to buy it, but I couldn't resist this set for $31:

Thank you much, Jens.
I've been listening to samples and they are quite lovely. Should be joining my collection soon.  ;D

I have all that you ordered Jeffrey, and not a bad egg amongst them! I am very glad to see you also ordered the de victoria box, that's a marvelous investment.

I'm listening to the Roengten now, and I foresee further purchases in that department at least!

And he also had the good taste to live in the Netherlands, I see!

Just placed the following 2 small orders with 2 Amazon US MP vendors last evening and this morning ...

The Steinberg box and Solti's Ring arrived 2 days ago and Presto just dispatched my order this morning.  New orders with Presto and MDT will be placed next week.

Couldn't resist MDT's Naxos sale:

BACH, J.S. • Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue, Partita No. 4, English Suite No. 3. Lisa Goode Crawford, harpsichord. Naxos 8.572309
BRAHMS • Sonatas for Viola and Piano. Roberto Diaz, Jeremy Denk. Naxos 8.570827
GRANADOS • Piano Trio, Piano Quintet. LOM Piano Trio, Joan Orpella, Jose Mor, Daniel Ligorio, Manuel Porta Gallego, Joaquin Rique. Naxos 8.572262
SCARLATTI, A. • Euridice dall'Inferno, La concettione della Beata Vergine. Ars Lyrica Houston. Naxos 8.570950
TANEYEV • Violin Sonata, Piano Music. Ivan Peshkov, Olga Solovieva. Naxos 8.557804
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Have them all, and again a excellent choice, no bad recordings or performances.  :)
