Quite different, actually. http://www.jazzloft.com/p-47104-1000-sleeves-international-shipping-included.aspx
(Oh, looks like intl. shipping has come down a bit.)

The neat thing is that it holds up to four discs... so all my Koopman Bach Cantatas have hopped into those sleeves, saving a huge amount of space right there.
For four discs, however, I'd recommend also getting a few paper sleeves so that the CDs never lie next to each other without a protective layer.

The only disadvantage is that the things become slippery and are no longer stackable the way they used to be.

That would be the solution of my problems, but the price is quite high, well will order them anyway, it will save me a lot of space. Thank you for the link.

It takes a little time to get the hang of the insertion-process... but eventually you will be able to crack open your old jewel cases and stuff the sleeves in under 20 seconds. I love them, I hope you will like them, too. Should you ever have questions, just ask...

Small caveats:

Super Jewel Box inserts fit as well (although I retain all my SACDs in jewel cases, so that they're more easily picked out among the lot), but the 'north- and south- spines' take more stress than usual and can fall off, if they were heavily perforated to begin with.

The  front-covers for the old bulky jewel disc cases (essentially backcovers of regular jewel cases) present a minor snag: they don't fit in the front of the sleeve, so to keep them (I do) they'll have to share the space with the actual back cover. That means that the de-facto cover of the sleeved CD is now the booklet. Not a problem in most cases, since the booklet cover usually replicates the CD cover... but not always.

Hope you will enjoy this. I have nearly listened to every disc after a year or so of owning it and have derived much pleasure. Occassionally uneven, it is mostly very good or better and a set I will play from often.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Landed today:

This will be my 9th recording of Bluebeard's Castle. Can't wait to hear this one!

Just landed:

On a couple of listens, despite some weaknesses in the playing this is delivered with far more conviction than the rather tepid Jarvi reading.

The savagely cut Kondrashin still remains essential listening and probably always will--it's hard to imagine anyone producing as electrifying an account of the eight movements of the work that he did record--but Titov is now an easy recommendation for the complete October Cantata.

Hat tip to eyeresist on this recording ...

I use these - which might be the same.  I have around 3000 of them. Save stacks of space, and help reduce removal costs when relocating from one country to another.  I feel the discs are safer in there - less chance of scratches compared to jewel cases, and everything is kept safe and secure.

By chance, my new supply of DiscSox sleeves arrived this morning.  Their design is based on a single cover intended to be stacked in a box, case or drawer.  It is the same size as a tray card, with the end pieces folded flat, so there is no need to bend the tray card - it is kept pristine in case you wish to return it to a jewel case in due course.  The cover/notes booklet fits into the front of the sleeve, and up to two CDs can be stored behind it.  The important part for me is that the CDs are stored against a protective fabric - which ensures they are not exposed to damage in any way.  Unlike some of the vinyl sleeves I have tried in the past, these are made of polypropelene which does not stick or deteriorate with age.  The cases others have mentioned look good to, but I have been very pleased with my choice.

I thought some of you might be interested to see the space saved - a stack of CDs the height of this month's Gramophone reduced to a stack of sleeves about 1/3 the height.

Sorry - I can't work out how to rotate the image!

I've really enjoyed Atterberg's symphony set from CPO, so I figured I need these two recordings as well. Speaking of Atterberg I need to listen to that symphony cycle again as it's been a more than year since I've listened to any of his music.

Arrived yesterday but I was too lazy to post: Haydn op.20, 50 and 64 by the Auryn Quartet (nice prices from JPC: two CDs for the price of one); Mahler 4 from MTT; and a disc of works by Gerhard Schjelderup recommended by Harry:

Those rapidly became my favourite (complete) cycle after hearing them a few months back, super stuff!

Based on what I've already heard (op.33, 74 and 17) I'd predict this is going to become my favorite cycle too: luscious sound, a traditional approach but lots of drama too. I might even pick them instead of the Mosaiques for that desert island exile.

MI - hope that you enjoy - I went the same way a few years back, i.e. Symphony box first, then the concertos - a composer who more should get to know better; however, that's about all I own of Atterberg, so will check Amazon to see what else may be available! :)
