Ordered these from amazon.co.uk:

You might want to cancel and re-order the Handel Caldara CD:  it's priced at $16.05 plus s/h  on Amazon (US) MP.
I just ordered it, of course.

But on amazon.co.uk it was £10.91 less Vat = around £ 9.50 + free P&P!

Thanks for the concern anyway!  ;)

For me, that's about the same as what I'm paying, since AmazonUK charges shipping to the US.
AmazonUS has it priced at about three times that....

Re-release from a 1993 recording, out on CD on the "musica classic" label (Denon?)

Excerpts with gypsy influences from Haydn's oevre interspersed with traditional Hungarian / Gypsy music.

Thanks for having posted this also in the Haydn Haus, Jens. By sheer coincidence I had run across it just the day before on Musica Dei dona blog and naturally hunted it down. The Hainburg one, that is. You can safely remove your question mark there. I now have it on my list for my next Euro order (MDT). The other is new to me, looks interesting since I greatly enjoy that crazy Rom music!   :)

Nice, John.
I'm not familiar with those recordings, but I love Turangalila, I own Chailly and Myung-Whun Chung, let me know what you think of your new purchases.  :)

The new erato

Found this at amazon.it at a price that won't make Norwegian customs add VAT and fees.

Good timing. We just mentioned all the Turangalia recordings over in the "New Releases" thread. (On the occasion of an upcoming Hyperion-release.)

Not quite as special (and not half the size) as the Gothic, though... given that there are more than a dozen of (largely) excellent recordings of it already available. (Chailly, Chung, Previn, Ozawa, Rattle, Nagano, Janowski, Wit (!), Tortelier, Salonen, Cambreling (!), and whoever else I'm overlooking (like T.Fischer or H.Vonk or De Froment or Le Roux).

That's pretty funny because I own the Chung and Chailly recordings too, but I also own Nagano's. I'll let you know how the Wit and Ozawa are once I've heard them.

springrite

"Complete Violin Sonatas" by Beethoven; Suk, violin

"Dvorak: Symphonic Works" Neumann, Czech Phil (under $7 for the boxset? Must have been mis-priced?)

"Bach: The Organ Works (Box Set)" Walcha; Audio CD; $60.78

"Beethoven: Symphonies / Overtures" (Boxset, ZigZag); Audio CD; $43.44

"Carlo Maria Giulini- The Chicago Recordings"

"Elliott Carter: A Nonesuch Retrospective" Elliott Carter; Audio CD; $18.95
(Bought this mostly for Triple Duo and In sleep, in thunder)

"Symphonies 93 & 94 " Surprise "(Szell, Cleveland)
(Bought this one mainly for that best big sneeze in 93)

"Camilla Wicks: Great Norwegian Performers 1945-2000 Vol. III" Camilla Wicks (Sentimental purchase as Camilla is a special friend)

Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

Offhand, I should think that the Turangalîla Symphony would suit Ozawa.
