The recording of music by Guillaume LEKEU by the Trio Hochelaga was such a treat that these two discs seemed to self-recommend for more late Romantic French chamber music:
Georges MIGOT  Trio (ou Suite à Trois)   and  Le Livre de Danseries for flute, violin and piano
and Joseph Guy ROPARTZ Piano Trio in a    and René-Emmanuel BÂTON aka. RHENÉ-BÂTON: Piano Trio

Thanks for alerting me to these! Especially the Migot and Ropartz discs. I have the same Lekeu pairing by a different group. But one never has too much Lekeu! He must be one of the most underrated late romantic composers.

Arrived this morning, Solti's Symphonie fantastique, recommended by Monkey Greg and this Gramophone review which ends:

"Nevertheless in his hands, those of the Chicago musicians and those of the Decca engineers, vulgarity itself comes close to the artistically viable."

Vulgarity doesn't refer to Solti's conducting, or the Chicago's playing, but rather to Berlioz's music, specifically the last two movements.
