Classico is a Danish business, which only releases their own produced recordings. Membran is related to Classico in that way, that Membran releases some licenced Classico recordings. I have noticed, that the sound quality of the Membran releases uses to be better than that of the Classico releases, which means, that Classico has given Membran access to the primary source material.

Thanks for the explanation.  The information on the box is extremely minimal,  merely indicating with symbols that Classico and Membran have some sort of copyright on the recordings,  but no copyright dates or anything else, for that matter, beyond the performers and the year of the recording.

And for good measure you quoted it so we could see it yet again. ;D

The Corelli is simply superb and the projected complete series will be something to look forward to. The op 5 will be released in a couple of months.

I have yet to listen to this particular recording, but I should have probably paid a bit more and waited for the more lavish packaging. This one is just 14 cardboard sleeves stuck in a box. Not even an itsy bitsy booklet with a few words. I guess you get what you pay for.

The other version is significantly more expensive though, and I guess most of us already have multiple versions of the libretto?

True enough. I could always use the booklets from the Neuhold sets, which I probably won't be listening to very often.

Looks like an excellent purchase, Paul, although I can't tell what some of those are (performers, rest of the pieces).
Do you have other recordings of that Janacek piece? I've only heard Neumann, superb piece, and performance, too.

To misapply a favorite phrase of Sherlock Holmes, that list certainly has some points of interest.
Who are the performers in the Beethoven and Chopin recordings?

TheGSMoeller

It has begun. I've heard this 4th, with its universe-expanding coda, but not yet the 6th.

Arrived today:
1) a package with six of the seven recordings I ordered from Arkivmusic over the weekend
2) an email from Arkivmusic explaining that the seventh item has been cancelled due to being "discontinued by the distributor".  It would of course be the one I was most interested in getting: Christie's recording of Handel's Serse, with van Otter.

Was paid for my triangle playing last week, and purchased:
