Hi,

I am looking for the cd of Jorge Bolet playing the Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 2. Anyone looking to sell? Or knows where i can buy it from? Be it the disc or the mp3? Thanks.

I have him playing one of the concerti but I can't remember which one. I will have to check tomorrow. It is on the same disc as a Martinu concerto.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

I am not sure whether he has released it before on different labels. What i found on Arkiv Music is a coupling of Prokofiev No. 2 and No. 3 together on Genesis Records. I could not order from Arkiv though cos it does not send to my country. Will you be willing to sell it? Leave me a PM if you want.

Thanks.

Bolet has two recordings of Prokofiev's 2nd concerto that I know of. Already mentioned mid 70s recording with Nuremberg Symphony under Ainslee Cox on Genesis, and 1954 recording with Cincinnati Symphony under Thor Johnson released on Remington LP, only CD transfer of that was on Dante. Don't know how rich you are but both are available used at amazon, although $642 for the Dante does look bit high.

I have LP rip of Cincinnati/Johnson, not very high quality but perfectly listenable. If you want I can upload it later today.

It will be great if you could. On both accounts, i must say, they are very expensive.

It actually sounds pretty decent, batter than I recall, maybe it's not LP rip but from Dante CD. Can't remember where I got the files from.
