Hi!

I am selling a 3-CD-box-set with orchestral works (4 symphonies, a violin concerto and two orchestral pieces) by US-composer Stanley Wolfe (1924-2009). The set was released by the composer himself privately and was never available in stores.

Check out the auction at ebay.com to see the set and also read something about Wolfe who is unfortunately more unknown than he should be!

Thanks for looking!

6.55 US$ as the best offer for a rare private 3-CD set of fantastic music, not available in other recordings! I must admit that I expected a bit more... strange. Anyone here interested in the set?

I was interested enough in it to bid, but not enough to bid much -- I googled and found this review, which suggested that I wasn't going to enjoy his music much: http://www.nytimes.com/1982/05/09/arts/juilliard-plays-wolfe-s-no-6.html

Hi Jim,

I noticed you bid, but meanwhile I sold the set somewhere else to a reasonable price.
Anyway I could not open the mentioned link and so don't know what the article says, but I really like the music by Wolfe! Its surprising that he is almost completely neglected by the recording industry (afaIk). So much cheap and lame music is released and I think Wolfe is better than much of that. But maybe now after his death his works will be recorded, we will see.

Best,
Tobias
