Bhasi

Hi

I'm a London-based 50-something 'mature' medical student, ex-teacher/lecturer, often up for distraction from the books and journals. I've got pretty catholic tastes (I think) but my special love is the post-WW2 avant-garde, Nono and Xenakis in particular.  That said, I've lately been drowning myself - willingly - in the brilliant Brilliant Classics Martucci set and Joyce Di Donato's 'Furore' Handel disc.   And I like both the old ECO Britten set of Brandenburgs and the new AAM Egarr set - so not totally HIP!

I'm delighted to have found this forum, having spent far too much time elsewhere fretting about valves, cartridges, speakers and such.

Hi Bhasi, and welcome.  My eyes always light up when I see words like "Nono" and "Xenakis," but your Martucci set sounds interesting, and I just heard DiDonato live last year (she's fantastic).

Anyway, welcome, and hope you enjoy yourself here.  (Of course, should you long to fret further about valves, cartridges, speakers, etc., there are folks here who will be more than happy to join you.  :D)

Bhasi - welcome to the GMG Forum!  :D  You should find plenty here to enjoy and some broad & ecletic interests of the members.

BTW, I'm an academic radiologist in North Carolina, USA (Wake Forest University), so I've been teaching medical students & radiology residents (and fellows) for years now -  :)

Yes, isn't that a real waste? Once you're content forget about it (and stop reading glossy magazines only designed for making you itchy) and concentrate on the music. Welcome.
