Rules:

1.  Each member may nominate three K. catalogue numbers
2.  Participation in this thread shall mean unequivocal endorsement of the fact that Mozart did actually write all of the music attributed to him.
3.  When we've got a list of 100 (or so), I'll post them in a single master-post, and we'll discuss its integrity.
4.  Other discussion may be considered, too.
5.  This original post will begin with 15 obvious and inarguable works.
6.  Anyone caught not having fun will be sealed away in the Lucchesi Listening Pit.

(Originally I was going to say 50 greatest works, but I wasn't sure we'd get 50 players;  so I composed it at first as 35 Greatest Works, and I was going to start off with just one (and the number in rule 1. was originally, one).  Rule 4. was an easy solution; but then I felt it wasn't fair to restrict participants to only one.)

In no particular order:

1. Clarinet Concerto in A, K.622
2. Die Zauberflöte, K.620
3. Adagio & Rondo (glass harmonica, flute, oboe, viola & cello), K.617
4. E-flat Major Viola Quintet, K.614
5. Requiem, K.626 (sufficiently Mozart for our purposes)
6. B-flat Major Piano Concerto, K.595
7. D Major Viola Quintet, K.593
8. Così fan tutte, K.588
9. Quintet for Clarinet & Strings in A, K.581
10. F Major String Quartet, K.590
11. B-flat Major String Quartet, K.589
12. D Major String Quartet, K.575
13. Symphony in C, K.551
14. Symphony in G minor, K.550
15. Symphony in E-flat, K.543

Franco

I offer six; you can select any three

Piano Concerto No. 19 in F major, K. 459
Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra, K. 299 (1778)
Symphony No. 25 in G minor, K. 183 (173d B) (1773)
Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor K. 478 (1785)
Le nozze di Figaro, K. 492 (1786)
Don Giovanni, K. 527 (1787)

Eleven of those 15 of yours would've been mine, Karl. We clearly like our Mozart mature.

Piano concerto in C minor K 491
Gran Partita in B flat major K 361
Sonata for piano à quatre mains in F K 497

(Well, the rules didn't survive the first shot, I see.)

But would those 11 be in your top 100?  (I arbitrarily gleaned from the end of the catalogue . . . wasn't a powerful element of personal aesthetics there.)  If not . . . that will be of interest, too.

No self-discipline here.

You did ask for "three K. catalogue numbers".   ;D

But if you don't have the Köchel catlaog memorized, or don't want to look it up, that's Idomeneo, Don Giovanni, and Così fan Tutte
