Well, SonicMan and I have been together 40 years and we still have a lot of fun together. However, if we ever agreed on everything, one of us would be dead (or at least deaf).  :) :)

Gurn & Harpo - well, I guess that I joined this thread by responding to Harry!  :-[ ;) ;D

But, we certainly do have an issue - I do own some 'wireless' headphones (but dislike them) that are good but they just distract me from other activities like reading - will use them occasionally.  Of course, the other option is to play my 'loud' music when Harpo is out of the house, which I do often (e.g. listened to Mahler's 9th this afternoon while she was away).  So, I'm trying.

Now, as to her compensation for this spousal abuse, I do take her on a lot of wonderful local car trips in our area, and I'm the driver; plus, we visit some wonderful places w/ great food & spas - so I guess all 'evens out' in the end.

Bottom line - yes, a problem but often just minor, and the major disruptions can be easily adjusted; but I have SO MUCH classical music that I can also find 'something' she enjoys - as an example, tonight some Haydn Piano Trios for our dinner music - no problem at all -  :D

Well, I gave it my best shot for you, Dave. Agree about the phones. :P  However, if the worst that happens is that you have to 'settle' for Haydn, then life is pretty good, I would say. :)

I'd say life was pretty damn good if we could only settle for Haydn.  :)

I might add that we both like going to hear live concerts. We have tickets to our local symphony tomorrow:

Theofanidis: Rainbow Body
Tchaikovsky: Suite from Swan Lake
Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto no. 3 in D minor, op. 3   Terrence Wilson, piano
