Much to my dismay I am somewhat gently forced to see Boris Godunov....a opera no less, yes I know how is that possible?
I don't now. 12-6-2007, 20:00, 3 hours of maybe torture.
What of it?
Advice, support?

Torture.  ;D Boris Godunov is a brilliant work.
You will be converted to an opera fan my friend.  ;)
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Blimey you all keep repeating that, can it be true?

It will give you plenty of time to contemplate your life and you can report back on decisions made during that vital five hours. Take sustenance, climbers here buy Kendell Mint Cake to ensure survival in harsh conditions. Wear a hat so your brain does not get hypothermia. Paint eyes onto your eyelids and snooze through it, you will awake to find that the same guy is still singing the same aria standing at the same place on the stage. Also, keep your legs moving a bit to prevent thrombosis.

DavidW: Yeah Mike doesn't get angry, he gets even.
I wasted time: and time wasted me.

But , but they said only three hours, and now you say 5 hours :o

stingo

jpc by now no doubt is ordering extra operatic CDs and DVDs, and hiring seasonal support staff in preparation for this week's episode of Harry Goes to the Opera. :)

That made me laugh quite a bit.
If it would be true, well than I have to take another job, to pay for all this.

I think Harry must have gone to restore his tissues with an ample helping of Telemann . . . .

knight66

It's the clock ticking....sent him right over the edge, just like it did Boris. Poor guy.

Well you said five, my friends say three, it starts at eight, that would mean it would go on till one in the night, nah, not possibly.
You simply miscalculated. ;D

I start my workout now, maybe that will help to make a good decision.
You guys were supposed to help me out, not in! ;D

What role of Marina?

You won't know if you don't know the opera, will you?

When Mussorgsky originally wrote the opera in 1869, the imperial opera houses wouldn't produce it because it lacked a major soprano role. Mussorgsky then added an act in which a soprano, named Marina, appears. Some productions these days go  back to Mussorgsky's 1869 original, in which case you're in luck for two reasons: 1) no soprano, and 2) a shorter opera.

Hector

Am I the last to realise that those shedloads of CDs you are always buying and play only once not one is an opera?

You deserve Telemann (and Huber).

Maybe some Fasch and Graupner, too  8)
