Brian

I've inadvertently gone four weeks without buying a CD. Wasn't even trying. This is a good start. :)

You've been buying digital downloads instead? ;)

I think the only CD I've bought all year was Andy's CD. It was worth it, though.
I will eventually buy that one recording of Brahms' Paganini Variations, but it's just so hard to part with $20 (even though I have a decent amount of money saved up).

It may be wrong, but youtube is my friend...  :D

YouTube has changed the game, fo sho!!

No longer to I have to try to get the shrink wrap off in one piece so I can glue it back on if needed!!

Would owning 12 complete recordings of all 32 beethoven piano sonatas - and craving more
qualify for a diagnosis of CDCDCD

- OR perhaps owning 117 recordings of lute music - and still have a nagging concern that my collection
is incomplete

"...when the night came, tortured by the usual melancholy of my thoughts, taking a vihuela,
I went out by a back door to the fields, to put aside my worries, and to enjoy the fresh wind
that was blowing..." Rojas, 1603

I've been on a slight spree here. I have, I believe, been pretty good, getting a lot of cds for very cheap,... and things that are Repertoire, so to speak,....

seriously, I think I'm getting to a certain End here,... I have so much enough to study, and I am very very pleased with what I already have, as a base, and I could theoretically just study what I have, with very minimal expansion.

we'll see

I have let down my friend Erato by saying that I wasn't going to buy another recording until September, but, man, I lost this battle. My CDCDCD kicked in. :-[ Hopefully, Langgaard's Antikrist will be my last purchase until September. :-\

hmmm,... haven't heard of Karl's progress. Perhaps Karl is in a relapse? Very quiet on the nom-nomming there Karl,... what's going on?

DavidW

The first step is admitting that I have a problem... I don't have a problem!! ;D

I'll just eat some of these dried out cookies in the back and head out the door before the meeting is even over... think I'll buy some more cds on the way home... but I don't have a problem!!! ;D ;D

You have a worthy record store on the way home? hmmm...

Depending on one's condition (and the condition the condition is in), the worthiness of the record store may not signify, je-je-je!
