More probably it is colon diverticulitis, a nasty condition, which may become complicated with intraperitoneal absces and stenosis of the colon.

Well, it IS nasty. Speaking from first-hand experience since that's what my hospital time last year was spent dealing with. I'm hoping, Harry, that you have... something else. Something less awful. :-\

Seeing Dutch in print has always made me think that someone has dropped a bed of type.

Interesting image! Is printing being done like that anymore today?

Desktop publishing has taken all the glamor and and glory away from the typesetter.

Geez, that's a relief! I wasn't born until the 60's, and I won't have to face the 2050's for another 40 years! Ha!

I was born in the fifties, so I guess I'm still suffering from sequels  :P

Did a typesetter steal your girl?

No, I lay out newspapers every Tuesday and Wednesday night. It's all done electronically, and I can't imagine the extra work if the typesetter had to be done by hand. Then again, we'd probably also have a much bigger staff. With every labor-saving technological advance, somebody gets laid off.

Which allows the company who made the labor-saving technology to hire, (or so they tell us).

S/he has. And the wonder of it is - it still makes sense (to us Dutch, at least).

Well, it hasn't been happening lately.

Harry - just saw this thread. Sorry to hear of this but hope that you are making good progress and my best wishes for a full recovery. Alan Bush Symphony 2 is good therapy  :D

I too am in my fifties but comfort myself with this quote that I recently came across:

"You are only young once, but you can remain immature all your life."

Get well soon my friend.

I took Hartmann/Zimmermann/Stravinsky/Webern and to top it Alban Berg, well there were discussions, especially about Hartmann and Zimmermann. ;D ;D

Are you sure that's not the cause?  :D

Get well soon  :)

Yes, get well soon, Harry.

Sonic and I are now in our sixties, and although we spend more time maintaining our bodies, we find we are more laid back and having more fun than when we were younger. It's something to look forward to!  :D

In this you are right, although I never expected it, there is truth in the fact that the fifties is a hard going phase. Indeed it is.

If you think that the fifties is rough, wait until you hit the 60's. ;D
