Hi,
I'm thinking of buying the Brilliant Classics 6 CD box set of Brahm's piano works, but I couldn't find any reviews about it. It seems to be a mixture of recordings from several pianists:

Kamerhan Turan
Karin Lechner
Hélène Grimaud
WOLFRAM SCHMITT-LEONARDY
Håkon Austbø

So, is it any good?

I honestly don't know, but I would like to draw your attention to the alternative by Julius Katchen - which is absolutely brilliant (pun intended) and can be had for $28,30 + p&p.

Kudos on the excellent recommendation, Que. Katchen's playing is at times (Sonatas), absolutely superlative. At $28, this is a great bargain.

Idill Biret on Naxos is a good complete recording, including the piano concertos. I have the box and think it very good. That said the Brilliant box is of a good quality, and can be recommended. That said the Julius Katchen is also very good, thus also recommended.
Three options, and no doubt others will come too. :)

Kuerti/Rescigno on Analekta isn't a bad budget collection. (Can be had for $23 over at Amazon)

Thanks for the recommendations so far.
Unfortunately, the Katchen is very pricey here in Germany (~45 Euros) at both Amazon and jpc, which would be quite an extreme difference to the Brilliant box. Katchen can also be had by Amazon/caiman for ~25 Euros, but unfortunately there is a 22 Euro limit for imports from outside the EU. Everything above that price will be heavily taxed, so it's probably not worth it.
As regards the Kuerti, I could only find a 3CD box with the PCs and some solo piano work thrown in as an extra, but not a solo piano collection like I am looking for.
I'll look into the Biret, which seems a nice alternative to the Brilliant set.

Harry, did you ever meet a recording you didn't like?  ;D

I'd have to second Q's recommendation on Katchen in this repertoire - hard to top as a 'box set' -  :D

Actually yes, many in fact, and if you would have read my postings, than you would no. :)
