A week ago my best friend hung himself. He's been in the hospital since, and he died today.
His parents asked me to find some clarinet recordings to bring to his funeral. He played clarinet for a few years and played in orchestra with me for a while. He's been my friend his whole life and as long as I can remember.

Thank you in advance.

That is terrible news.  Incidents like this are all too common.  A few years ago, a friend of mine lost his son in a similar way.

Anyway, there are a few pieces I might suggest.  Mozart's Clarinet Quintet is a lovely piece, with a hint of melancholy.  Also, the Clarinet Sonatas of Brahms (the original versions of the Viola Sonatas) would probably be good choices.

Sorry to hear of your loss, and I hope this helps.

I agree, my sympathies go to you.  I find the slow movements of Mozart's clarinet concerto and clarinet quintet to be very appropriate.

My deepest condolences from Vancouver, Canada.

I'll second (third, actually) the Mozart clarinet quintet.

My condolences goboenomo :(

Brahms' Adagio from the Clarinet Quintet may be a proper choice too.

Let me know if you won't have time to get a copy, I may upload it for you.

I do have the clarinet concerto, and the quintet. I was also going to use Brahms, Clarinet Sonata 2 in Eb, Op 120-2 - 2 Allegro Appassionato

I could use some uploaded files if you will, please and thank you.
The funeral could be as soon as this friday so my mom says, and i double shifts every day, next thursday being my next day off.

Gobo, so sad to hear of your news. I have a friend with whom I share a 24-year history. I'd be devasted if a similar fate befell him, so I feel for your loss. My deepest condolences, sir. I'm sure you'll give your friend an appropriate send-off. :(

goboenomo,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  Don't beat yourself up for it.  My first thought was the Mozart clarinet concerto, too.  Take care!
