Two-movement symphonies - a phenomenon we never discussed before, I guess, nor spent any special thought on. And for that reason, it takes some times before we realize that some of our favourite symphonies might actually be in two movements. Like, e.g.

Nielsen 5
Saint-Saƫns 3 (or 5, if you prefer that count)
Tippett 3
Braga Santos 6
Alwyn 2

I'll tell you which came to mind first (rather than which I consider the "top"):

Schoenberg -- Chamber Symphony no. 2 in E flat minor, op. 38
