Math (yet again)

I'm trying to figure out how to enter this into my calculator and get a graph, but I think it may be underpowered.

I have a Casio fx-9860gii, to be clear.

The problem is:

y=0.0034e^-(x-515)/26,912
200 greater than/equal to x smaller than/equal to 800

Thanks for any assistance.

Also, are there any kind of calculators out there that could handle this type of problem, without using an actual computer?

why so complicated?  it just looks like e ^-x with the intercept moved and rescaled by a constant

Well it's a bell shaped curve, so it's not the simplest of transformations. I mean it's really just distribution.

And I know how to do the graph, but it is about me not wanting to do all of the calculations of x between 200 and 800.

So I was hoping that someone knew how to do this easily on a calculator.

It's not a bell curve.  That would be a curve containing exp(x^2).  It's an exponential function, as BWV 1080 pointed out.  You just need to make a graph of a standard exponential function and rescale the x and y axes.

Whoops. I just noticed that I missed a key component to the equation, which led to this misunderstanding, the fault is only on one end.

Here's the correct equation:
y=0.0034e^-(x-515)^2/26,912
200 greater than/equal to x smaller than/equal to 800

Ok, now it is a Gaussian with origin at 515, standard deviation 116 and scale factor 0.0034.  I've never owned a graphing calculator, but a it seems that if a calculator can graph anything it can graph that.  But you can't type it into excel or a scientific graphing program?

Not in class, but how did you figure out the standard deviation?

We've actually not gotten to this in class, but I like to forge ahead.

The standard formula for a Gaussian is f(x) = exp( -x^2/ (2 sigma^2) ) where sigma is the standard deviation.  You have the same function with x -> (x-515), so the center is shifted, and 2 sigma^2 = 26,912
