Apparently the owner of the Segway company was killed when he ran his Segway off a cliff.  You can't buy that kind of publicity.   ???

Daverz

The Segway was made obsolete years ago by the invention of a less dorky mode of transportation called "walking".

How about the CEO of the multiply-bailed-out Citicorp buying a $350 bottle of wine at lunch because he could not find any wines by the glass "worth drinking"?

Well, I took my FIRST Segway ride in the spring on the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC - pic below w/ the Biltmore House in the background - no cliffs but could have run off a path into the French Broad River!  I caught on fairly quickly but you really need to pay attention.

After Susan read about the 'cliff incident', she does not want me to do another ride on that machine - she started the 20 minute pre-ride training session w/ me but could not get the hang of the machine -  :D

If I were to caption that pic Dave it would be: Dave prepares to find out if the Segway really can work underwater! ;D ;D

Well, David - that's my 'horse riding' helmet on my head and not one of those old-fashion diving helmets -  ;) ;D

My 'trainer' who rode along was a cute college student - I kept up w/ her pretty well (i.e. on the Segway -  ;D); even went up a hairpin trail on a high hill that gave us a great panoramic view of the Biltmore Estate - I'd like to do it again!  Dave  :)

And walking would have been unacceptable?
