I am not a big fan, but appreciation for his positive contribution to music has nothing to do with my preferences.  So, Happy 70th, Frank Vincent!

I can't believe he's been gone for 17 years! (I guess technically he remains forever 52.)  Happy birthday from me, too, Frank!
Men profess to be lovers of music, but for the most part they give no evidence in their opinions and lives that they have heard it.  ~ Henry David Thoreau

Birthdays for dead dudes make no sense to me.   ???

Ah, man, just when I was about to start a "living in Oregon" take.

But Zdenek Fibich turns 160 today! He hasn't brushed his teeth in a while.

You think it's my mind?  >:(
No, we think you are a "victim of forces beyond your control".

If he were with us, I'd gift him with some Zircon encrusted Tweezers.

Then he would look mighty grand!

... in a little white box that he can sell uptown.

There is no Hell; there is only France.

The new erato

Saw them do this stuff live i 73 with the great band featuring the Underwoods, Billy Preston, Bruce Fowler and Aynsley Dunbar (IIRC) among other assorted freaks. Nothing freakish about he bands playing though, one of the mightiest concerts I've ever been to.

karlhenning

No, he had (within his arsenal of talents) a talent for getting even freaks up to their A game.

The new erato

Been to a multitude of great classical concerts since (this was right along with my growing interest in classical music); if there was one concert I wish I could relive though, it's this one.

Picked this 70th anniversary MOJO commemorative up at the local bookshop few days back .. very cool if you're an admirer!

I never buy magazines. But I just fetched this at the local Borders.

MOJO is one of the only cool music mags.
