Anyone remember the eccentric, glossy mag "CD Review?"

Back when CDs were new, this magazine not only reviewed classical, it reviewed jazz, pop and everything in between. After it died, we never saw its like again.

Mojo magazine reviews lots of different stuff but it's mainly pop and rock and no classical. I guess the online equivalent of CDR would be AllMusic...but I like to sit back with a magazine...

I had every edition and I still have all the cover discs. I enjoyed it best when it started as it was more hardcore classical. They suddenly went bust. The following month was advertised with Bryn Terfel and....it never appeared. They got themselves into hot water over remarks they made about the apprarance of Jessye Norman, but I don't think that was connected with its demise.

I wonder if we're talking about the same magazine. :) Wayne Green was the editor; that guy was/is a loon! ;)

I doubt that it was the same one.

I bought a few issues of the one you're talking about.
