New to this board, seems a nice place. I must say the UI here is easy to use.

My favourite musics are baroque vocal and classical era chamber for strings. You might see me round where those topics come up.

Welcome to another Canadian! (Not that I'm Canadian, of course.)

Hi chasman, and welcome.  You are right; the UI here is very easy to use.  Look forward to your comments on whatever you enjoy listening to.

Thank you all for the welcome. Canadian I am, thus my spelling of "favourite". I promise not to say "eh?" Damn, I said it.

Pictured is my good friend Leo, before I went his bail. His aural tastes are unstructured, but run to the tonal.

No Schoenbergian equities for this boy. He has one note and sticks to it!

Handel pretty obsessively, with a leavening of Bach. Have a bunch of Telemann's cantatas on the way (yes, I too am afflicted by CDCDCD), and I always feel a little queasy if I don't have some Haydn within easy reach.

Nothing obscure at the moment.

Well, plenty of people here to keep you company with those composers.

Bach is probably the one who takes up most shelf space for me.

Here is the Bach that's been complementing the Handel:

Rereleases, the first 3 discs are moodily impressive, the fourth, with boy singers, doesn't work for me. And last night I threw in Queyras' version of the cello suites, so yes, I'm cool with the JSB!

I have managed to collect just over half of the cantatas, some in multiple versions in very varied styles. Right now I am waiting on the delivery of this:

A singer new to me. Waiting and drumming fingers...and waiting.
