Ligeti's Piano Concerto. The latter simply MUST be on the list somewhere. It's a dead-cert masterpiece.

Agree about the Ligeti, also the Lutoslawki concerto is very good

I want to hear the Hugh Wood one now

Rule 2....

2.   All works named "piano concerto" or containing at least one piano/keyboard solo part with orchestra will be accepted.

What a shame - because Alkan's Concerto for solo piano is about as fine as any of the ones on the list so far - one of the finest and most incredible pieces of the 19th century, and 100% successful, despite its outrageousness. Listening to it this afternoon prompted me to think of this thread...

Next you'll be nominating organ symphonies in the favourite orchestral works thread  :P

Ha! Well, it's a piano concerto, surely - just one in which the orchestra is also a piano...and, oh yes, they are the same piano, and the same player. It's certainly more of a piano concerto than a Bach Harpsichord Concerto is (and yes, I know that the small print allows the Bach, but my point remains!)   ;D

Wholeheartedly agree on the assessment.

On the other hand, since Alkan has named it a piano concerto, and the rule being phrased the way it is, it wouldn't technically be against the rule to include it.  0:)

Tchaik's First, Schumann & Grieg's only, Liszt's twofer, Rach's 2nd and 3rd --- call me an unabashed Romantic and add Rach's Paganini Rhapsody.  ;D

Oh, did I mention Bartok's 2nd?  :)
