Amfortas, if I have understood the rules - when a work is deleted, you have to add a new one when the list contains fewer than 25. In this case, you have removed two... So two points got to two new works of your choosing, which leaves only two points for either Prok 3 or Tchaik (or one point each)...

+3 Bruckner: Symphony No. 1 in C minor
+1 Bruckner: Symphony in D minor "Die Nullte"
-2 Magnard: Symphony No. 4 in C sharp minor, Op. 21 (trying it again today - it sounds nicely in 2nd part but is for me still a great disappointment after his marvelous and profound chamber music and without any doubts not so interesting as Tournemire, Casella or Vermeulen symphonies)

Dear mszczuj, which performance of Magnard's Fourth are you listening to? Plasson, Ossonce or Sanderling? Ossonce and Sanderling do the work full justice, with Sanderling brilliant in movements 1-3 and Ossonce in the final movement. I know Vermeulen's symphonies (I prefer 1, 2, 3 and 5), and I am getting to know Tournemire's symphonies (I like what I hear). Casella is still only a name.

I think Magnard's Fourth is the best French symphony after Franck's Symphony in D minor and Debussy's La Mer and before Roussel's Third. That's why I want this symphony on the list!

Roussel Third is not on the list. May be you should rather vote for it. We can choose only six symphonies more now. And there are such symphonies missing like Shostakovich 6th, 7th, 8th, Saint-Saens 3rd, Nielsen 3rd and 4th, Ives 2nd and 3rd, Zemlinsky Lyrische Symphonie, Dvorak 5th, Scriabin 3rd, Janacek Sinfonietta, Schoenberg Chamber Symphonies, Messiaen Turangalila, Hindemith Mathis der Maler - to name only popular. And we have nothing of Glazunov, Miaskovsky, Martinu, Lutosławski, Honegger...

Sanderling.

If Sanderling doesn't convince you, the work is clearly not for you. Fair enough.

Several of the symphonies you mention are among my favourites, too, and I love Miaskovsky, Martinu and Honegger. But you can add and vote for only so many deserving works and composers. It's a pity too few people have joined in.

All those works can still be nominated, and at least in theory voted to the top of the list before we reach the 100 mark.  Or do you think (going by your most recent votes) that Bruckner 0 and Bruckner 1 are actually superior to them all?

At any rate, there are five slots left to fill, and plenty of spaced on the list of nominees if you wish to add more.

The 100 we'll end up with will be filled with canonical works and those which people here on GMG think deserve to be in the canon. It's clear, though, that 100 symphonies are not enough to do justice to the extant literature. I miss many favourites, too. So be it.
