Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I have a question regarding the CD and computers.

I recently received a hybrid DSD CD, and it says it is able to play in all standard CD players.  I attempted to import it into iTunes, but my computer doesn't recognize the disc.  I've had mixed luck with importing SACD's onto my laptop.  I was thinking of getting an external CD drive to accomplish the importing of the SACD's, but before I spend money on it, I want to make sure this would work.  Is this a sound plan?

Thanks!

Edit:  Buying the External CD player worked.

You should be able to rip the CD layer with any of the well known digital extraction programs including dBPowerAmp and Easy CD-DA Extractor. Try a different computer or another SACD to isolate the problem.

Does the disc appear in Windows Explorer as "Audio CD" or what? Is there an error message in ITunes or does it do nothing?

Windows Explorer doesn't recognize that there is a CD in the drive.  Sometimes it'll say there is a DVD in the drive, but without any information on the disc
