I was a little skeptical, because I dislike Noseda, but listened to 1 and 3 earlier this week and was very impressed. Of course, Bavouzet is always worth hearing no matter what he plays.

Well, I like Noseda and, of course, Bavouzet, so it's a win/win for me all across the board.

Was just wondering the other day when that would be showing up.
Given my bad luck with pre-orders, and the fact that I've already spent my CD budget for March (and April, May and June, if I was honest),  I have  merely wishlisted this one.  (Plus Barnes and Noble might have this in store, like they did with the first volume, allowing me an end run around the question of where to order it.)

Don't be honest, at least when it comes to your music budget.  It may end in tears.

Not tears, merely bankruptcy.

I've spent my budget through December. Why am I even reading this thread? Masochism?

Just think of it as spending your 2015 budget ahead of time.

If we were in Congress or similar, we would call it 'pre-spending'.

Saw it live some years ago in Chemnitz. Very good. Catchy. Unlike his effort thereafter... with Albert Ostermaier at the Bavarian StOp...Tragedy of the Devil, yes. That said, Three Sisters is special!

Thanks for the comment, jlaurson! Well, I've made up my mind...  :) ...probably  off to a newly opened specialized classical CD shop here in Madrid this afternoon to get it  ;).

I bought the Teldec box a while back  (actually, I'm a maniac and buy all the boxes, but this was one of my favorites) and love it. There is a disc of Berezovsky playing Lizst that is one of my favorites in the box. It's probably my favorite piano disc right now--and I have a lot of good piano music.  I'm thinking about this:

but am wondering how it holds up? Assuming there is anyone here who is a Berezovsky fan and has a lot of his Teldec recordings, do you think the other items in this box are as good as the Lizst disc? Thanks.
It's all good...

yep. Not listened to Hough's Brahms yet, though...

Preston's Bach I like... but I got the cycle mostly because I like Sir Simon. What a lovely gentleman.
If I trimmed my Bach Organ Cycle collection down to five, though, I'm not sure it would remain. (But I will never trim it down to five. :-) )

Listening to the Kei Koito cycle on Claves right now and am LOVING the first two volumes. Really, really well programmed and very beautifully played on different instruments.

I like the Rachmaninov disc (assume it's in the box) with the Variations on a Chopin theme and Sonata #1.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

The Ludus Tonalis is absolutely fabulous. (I'm assuming it's in that box)

Thanks, guys. I've got this high on my list. Next time I do a purchase from a big retailer, I'll add this (it's rather steep at my local shop, but cheap online).
It's all good...

Getting out my old vinyl makes me want to give Pettersson another shot. Specifically looking at the 6th:

Hello,

I'm strongly considering the Haitink Symphony Edition box set scheduled for release in March.  All recordings are with the RCO. I'm particularly curious about the Bruckner and Mahler symphonies. I already have complete Bruckner by Jochum (EMI) and Karajan and complete Mahler by Bernstein NY and Bertini, as well as individual recordings by both.  Would the addition of Haitink in this repertoire be worthwhile, or not so much? I'm taking into account the price which seems right, and the fact that I love Haitink in pretty much everything I own by him.

I somehow only just found out about this box:
