And this is why I haven't been writing lately. Am I improving on silence? I doubt it.

Or maybe I'm just lazy.  ;D

This kind of thinking loop is very familiar to me. I've been locked in it often myself. I'm in it now, as a matter of fact. All I think I want to do is play, play, play, but there's this niggling voice saying 'write, write, write'. I've got to the stage where I'm telling it to shut up most of the time.

You say to the voice, "Haven't you better things to do than niggle?"

Now it can be revealed.

Before Independence Day, when visiting my buddy Paul, I often lounged in the shade of the shed in his yard.

He (Paul) little suspected the significance this wee structure in his backyard might have for me . . . .

"I do not know its name, and I give it the designation of The Shed. Making an effort (further) to give it a name I call it The Great."

Now that's a historic shed!

If a female author tried using a writing shed, but found it didn't work, she'd shed her shed.

My favorite writer's shed, not far from home.

But that is a replica, not the original.  (I bet if you look close you will see the Home Depot logo on the lumber).

This, however, is the real thing.

Inside, a typewriter for composing rambling manifestos.

Way cool! Where is that located?

I don't know.  It is shown in an FBI storage facility.  At one point it was on display at the Newseum in Washington.

Been hot as hell so I added air-conditioning to my shed. Does that mean it is no longer a shed?

How about WiFi?

What I mean is, does a shed has to be historical or pre-historical or ...

Well, The Shed is The Shed, always changing yet always the same. It is the air-conditioning that has changed.

Each shed is but an image of The Shed; and The Shed is neither historical nor pre-historical, but trans-historical. Or so it says here, in The Pocket Guide to Shedism.

Karl Henning

The Shed is the same, only the condition of the air changes . . . .
