Hello!
First of all I regret the way I express myself in English. I am an fond Spanish and I discovered this forum by accident while looking for information about American symphonists. I was amazed at the level of scholarship that is here and I decided to join to learn and enjoy the comments and recommendations of all experts participating in the forum. I like almost all music and especially the symphony. I hope to have a good time in your company and, if possible, to contribute my little grain of sand. Thank you all!

Buenas noches, Jean! Welcome to GMG and enjoy yourself here. What are some composers and symphonies you like?

 Thank for your welcome.
Well, I like many, especially Bruckner, but I enjoy all great. However, it took a while fascinated by composers less common: Nordic, with the Swedes to mind: Atterberg, Rangstrom, Alfven, Nystroem, Rosenberg. France's most recognized: Honegger, Milhaud, Jolivet ... and under: Ropartz, D'Indy, Sauguet and of course Jean Rivier. I also really like the Russians Myaskovsky, Schnittke, Karamanov, Popov, and so on. Now I have a few weeks listening to the American symphonists: Ives, Schuman, Hanson, Creston, Diamond, Harris, Piston, Sessions, Mennin, Hovhaness ... And many many more composers, but I will not bore you with so many names. Sorry

Ah! I like Mahler   ;)

What about Nielsen, Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, or Shostakovich?

Hi Jean. Greetings from a half Spanish gal from Los Angeles who lives in Vienna, Austria. Welcome to the forum.

My paternal grandparents were from Spain (grandma was born in Madrid) and I hope to be able to visit Spain one day. In my maternal grandmother's family I am descended from a few Spanish kings as well as my 29 times great grandfather was El Cid. I would love to be able to see some of the places where my ancestors lived as well as some of my Gomez cousins. Ah, one day... 8)

Wow! What an amazing story (and that you know so much about it too)! What an incredible visit it will one day be for you. These are the types of stories that keep me so interested in history (and personal histories).

Hello Hollywood! Nice to meet you. Your story is amazing. What with the past as you may not know Spain? You have to come because you love safe. What a descendant of the Cid is incredible. If you come someday I recommend that you follow a tourist route called the Camino del Cid. It is an itinerary based on the path that followed the Cid in exile and through many cities and towns where he was. You can visit castles, medieval churches and cathedrals. Also in the Burgos area there are many sites with memories of the Cid. I hope you ever anime to come. A greeting!

Some day I would love to visit some of the places where my ancestors lived. El Cid's Spain is one place I'm sure I would enjoy. I also would love to visit England and see where some of my other ancestors like William the Conqueror, Kings Henry I and II and Sir Oliver Cromwell (not Lord Protector but his uncle) lived. Then Scotland and France where I have quite a few other kings and queens places to check out. Well if I ever win the Lotto I plan to travel all over Europe to check out many of my family's ancestral homes. I am really very proud about being descended from so many European royal families but I unfortunately did not inherit any of the wealth, land or royal titles. I'm just a poor American cousin. C'est la vie... 8)
