Can you recommend me symphonies in which the Trumpet is very important?

huge trumpet solo in Carter's Symphony of Three Orchestras

I think that's been mentioned half a dozen times in this thread already.

Oddly, as far as I know, Holst's Mystic Trumpeter doesn't actually feature the trumpet. Surely an oversight?

DieNacht

Langgaard´s weird 13th Symphony;
also, the trumpet has some solos at important places in Pettersson´s 6th, very beautifully done in the Kamu recording.

While not "symphonic" or even "classical" per se, I'd recommend Miles Davis  Sketches of Spain very strongly.  Some very creative arrangements- some of which were too difficult for the "classical musicians" hired for the album. The similar Porgy and Bess album did not work as well, IMO, although the Oh Doctor Jesus manages to have a very confessional blues trumpet going against a cool-but-dry arrangement that Stravinsky would have liked.
Ever heard of the guitarist Mundell Lowe? He recorded an album based on the music from Porgy & Bess. Might be difficult to find.
