I've failed in my attempt to find a site that collects (or allows you to do a search for) lengthy works that Amazon offers as single tracks for a ninety-nine-cent download. (The usual protocol is to prohibit purchasing long tracks except by purchasing the entire album. But some labels/discs don't follow this restriction).

For example:
Reger's Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Bach (35 minutes, 69 cents): http://www.amazon.com/Reger-Variations-Fugue-Theme-Op-81/dp/B0012F6UIS
Richard Arnell's 19-minute Violin Concerto: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0070J7XHC/ref=dm_dp_trk7
Gunnar de Frumerie's ballet St john's Eve (4 tracks, averaging 13 minutes each): http://www.amazon.com/Gunnar-Frumerie-Saint-Johns-Eve/dp/B0029QT34M

Does anyone know a site collecting such 99¢ tracks? Or if not, could you share your own finds here?

I would imagine it would be easier to find long tracks of pieces that occupy one track on a cd, for example Tod und Verklarung. A quick look gets to this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Strauss-R-Op-20-Eulenspiegel-Verkl%C3%A4rung/dp/B003SX31GG/ref=sr_1_19_title_1_mus?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1344101513&sr=1-19&keywords=strauss+tod+und+verklarung. Each track is $0.99 though the whole thing is just $2.97.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Just go to Amazon advanced search, MP3 option

http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=sv_dmusic_3?ie=UTF8&node=2258933011

- put an asterisk in the "Title" box, select "Classical" for category, and sort by "Time: long to short".

Interesting, thank you. Were it not for all these Joel Young tracks the search would be friendlier. Who is Joel Young  ??? From the titles I read he seems intent on  making God's Light dawn on us.

I was surprised to see titles such as  'How goosebump goals can bring you to the next level'  and 'Are 14 foot tall tomato plants actually healthy?' in Amazon's "classical" listings ::). This is all on page 1 btw, so brace yourselves folks.

In any case, thanks again, the list DOES contain many interesting things. For example a close to 80 minutes 'song' :D titled 'violin concerto no 1'. Clicking on the link brings you to a page with a cover art of 'ARAM KHATCHATURIAN: violin concerto no. 1 - Moscow Symphony Orchestra'. That's it. Wait a minute. Scrolling down one finds a very different description and a few enthusiastic reviews of what appears to be a disc containing music by SHOSTAKOVICH: violin concerto with Leonid Kagan, with the Moscow Symphony (presumably, as said cover art mentions no soloist, comductor or orchestra) under Rozhdestvenky, plus the Festive Overture and a suite from the opera Lady Macbeth (Katerina Izmaïlova really, considering the date of the performances). What is Aram doing in Dmitri territory I don't know. And how did the reviewers figure the contents and the artists is beyond me too.

I was also intrigued by a listing of 'Berlioz: The Damnation of Faust, Parts 3 and 4'  in a 69 minutes track. Clicking on the link brings you to an album titled 'All Time Classical Greats' with a nice mediterranean sea cover art. Right.

And what is one to make of tracks 256-264 and 266 titled 'The Iliad by Homer with greek musical dorian notes - Rhapsody Xx (explicit)   :o >:D All 10 tracks time in at 67:38. Are you surprised? You all wonder what's on track 265, between the explicit Homer tracks? Well, it's our friend Joel Young exclaiming 'What's GOD doing?' . I kid you not, Joel must have caught wind of the explicit whereabouts on Amazon and is issuing dire warnings.

For music lovers of another persuasion, there's another 80 minute 'song' containing MORTON FELDMAN's piano quartets and quintets. At least, if the hearing is painful, the credit card will not have suffered too much  :)? Then there's another extra long track containing Terry RILEY's 'In C' 25th anniversary'. Did they repeat it, or is there extra material? Suspense, suspense...

In any case, the site seems to contain some interesting but frustratingly hard to figure stuff. Wagner opera acts abound, if one is interested. It seems Wagner and Amazon were made for each other: every act of his operas time between 40 and 80 minutes and are on the list of 0.99$ songs on offer.

Andre, before I narrowed the search down to "classical", I discovered many complete audio versions of the Koran....

On behalf of all MGMers, thanks for your steadfastness and intrepidity, Eyeresist  :D. Pioneers are always rewarded for their sense of selflessness :D

A thousand thanks, eyeresist and others! That sorting screen is a fine find!

Here's the best discovery I've come across using it thusfar:

Donald Tovey: Aria and Variations for String Quartet, Op.11 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VSM1T6/ref=dm_ty_trk
