One way to woo the girl is to follow this advice, and even perform the said piece.  She will love you forever for it, if you perform it properly.  :-  ???

Faith, there be no improper means of performing 4'33, meseems.

Well, that of course is the usual option!   0:)

Carry a CD of Schoenberg's Gurrelieder with you and use it to continue the conversation!

Of course, it could end the conversation too!    :o

I'd rather carry along something that would get her aroused like some Ravel. La Valse would do nicely. :)

4'33 has everything you need for the matter.  Ravel just doesn't have the same colour and timbre of 4'33.  You wont even need to take a disc with you.   :-\

Nah, I'll stick to the Ravel. :D Bringing along Cage (or not ;)) would be embarrassing. :P

Regardless, Cage will be around, so be ready for him.  ;)

If I were anywhere near Atlanta, I'd go talk to her for you.

Since I trusted him with music, I'd think he'd trust me with women, no?
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

Ah; caged girls! Seems a little kinky for a first date, though.

Hmm!  I think that was a Sybil Danning epic 30 years ago or so!   ;D

Anyway, what do you guys think I should do next?

Give up. That's what I've done, and I'm much, much happier.

Concord, giving up is not in my vocabulary unless I see that there's no possiblity of a future between us, but my problem now lies with whether I'm attracted to her or not. I think that fire has fizzled out now.

I have to admit that not worrying about such things is definitely more pleasant...

Not worrying about anything is an even more a pleasant thought (:D), but, thankfully, I don't prescribe to this train of thought. Some of the most magnificent music in the world came out of heartbreak and love for someone else. To never have experienced love is to never have lived IMHO.

Well, then, it's kind of a moot point, isn't it?  ;)

Eh. Passion is one of the most overrated human qualities (and a distinctly Western one, too).

Do you feel strongly on this subject, or just, you know, whatever....

Yes. I feel similarly about the West's moronic emphasis on "happiness".

No, I was being ironic. Perhaps irony is another decadent feature of Western culture.
