Looks very interesting George. Unfortunately I really don't have the time to seriously sit down and listen during next few weeks. Will have to pass on this one, sorry.

I understand.

On another site, I set up a blind listening test of 10 performances of Chopin's Berceuse. I thought including it here might generate some interesting discussion. I uploaded the 10 performances complete over at 4 shared, so they can all be heard without downloading them. Let me know what you think of each one, which are your favorites, who you think the pianists are, etc:

Maybe make it a separate thread? I don't pop into this one that often and missed it until now. I like these sorts of blind tastings. I am usually bad at identifying the pianist, but I'll happily share my preferences. :)
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

I posted it here because a lot of people already check this thread and any discussion of the samples will fall within the thread topic.

You're a lucky man, for they are rare now. Do you have the Concord or Finnidar releases?

How is the SQ?

Holden

A pity that neither Spotify or MOG have this recording as there are works there I've never heard Richter play.
Cheers

I haven't made it too far yet, but what I heard was perfectly fine.

ok, if I'm a complete Chopin newbie (had Collard's 'Nocturnes', but,... I don't,... oh wait, that was Faure,... I had Rubinstein (RCA)), what is the thing to do here? I'd prefer something ridiculous in modern sound. I just don't know if I'm a Chopinian.

Has this Warhol cover ever been reproduced on to a cd?

It can go for over $500 for the lp version.
