In Helsinki...

Hi Mike - wives are certainly nice!  Mine is the same; I'm losing hair and it is white but she still thinks that I'm so 'cute' - well, not bad having just turned 65 y/o!  Dave  :D

Just as well they see us that way instead of trading us in; or insisting on a retred and rebore!

Nice picture, Mike. :)
Of course I already knew what you look like, but still good "to see you again".

Very gentlemanly.  :)

Oh, I must have forgotten that I had posted before, it can only have been the one from when I met Bruce in NY.

Yes, indeed. :) And I recall pictures of a meeting in London with Renfield and a female member, but forgot who..

That was when most of us discovered that Novi is a woman. :) And I think Dundonnell was there also.

Ah, yes indeed. How could I forget - my apologies, Novi! :)

And to Dundonel, who unfortunately no longer visits us :-\ - may he return soon!

Yes, it was Edinburgh. I had forgotten there was evidence, as I generally don't have my photo taken. Surely that is a full set! No need for more.

I have had trouble getting photos across from my computer or even posted from Photobucket. I have blog with that single small photo of me on it, otherwise mainly travel photos and writing. I realised I could copy photos from there, thus the new one. Think I need to take some brain food for improved memory.

Yes, I noticed it while reading about your Roman sojourn with your archaeologist friend (lucky you!). It was a stunning shot of the cupola (St. Peter's?) to kick off the post. :) And I recognised a few other places from CD covers. :D

Thanks for that. I am off to Bologna soon, perhaps some more photos, if not anything to write about that would be worth reading.

Bologna's inner city is soo nice! :)

I have wanted to visit for ages. I ordered on-line a Blue Guide to the area. This was on the assumption it would be more through than the kind of guide I normally buy. I topped it up with something called a 'Wallpaper Guide, sold as being a stylish guide to the city. The former devotes only 20 pages to the city, the latter is like a Sunday Supplement with practical information removed. I do however know where to buy retro furnature, a likely purchase whilst utilising Easyjet, ha! So, now a THIRD guide is winging its way to me, the usual Insight publication, reliable and illustrated and useful.

The aim will be to get to Ravenna for the day and devote the rest of the time to relaxing in Bologna and trying not to overeat.

I have a modest amount of hair, which is invisible in the photo, as it is white, my wife says it is silver.

Mike

As I've aged my hair has reverted to the attractive platinum blond of my childhood...for some reason no one else sees it that way  ;D

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Only the genuine Bologna, we trust!

Papy Oli

Might as well add my mug here too - Taken last November during a photo forum meet near Le Louvre museum in Paris  :)

Those aren't the Luxembourg Gardens by any chance?

Papy Oli

These ones are the Jardins des Tuileries, next to Le Louvre.

The Jardin du Luxembourg  is just wee bit down south near the Sorbonne  :)

Ah! The Musorgsky ought to have given it away! : )

I believe the Italians would have it so. But if you know of the genuine, genuine one, then spill the beans. I don't want no ersatz experience.

I wanted to experiment with uploading pictures I took with my cell phone.
I have a Tracfone, and the process of getting a picture I took with that onto here is unimaginably ridiculous.
But... I finally know how to do it!  :o 8)
